‘Map & Build Your Crowd’
Workshop 2
Every ambitious project needs a crowd – a large and definable group of people who are going to support, contribute to, engage with or gather together around the ideas and people behind making the project happen. Join artist and educator Rachel Dobbs for a workshop focussing on how to map and build your crowd to work towards successful funding bids, crowdfunding campaigns or micro-patronage and individual giving schemes. This is an essential skill for creative practitioners, community groups and organisations alike. Firstly, you’ll find out how to start mapping your own crowd. Then we’ll focus on ways to extend your connections with other people to help you access the opportunities and resources you need to make big things happen!
As an artist, Rachel’s interests are centred on people, relationships, communication and an examination of the role of community, individuals and the collective. She has been getting nerdy about crowdfunding since 2012, and has raised over £161,000 through crowdfunding campaigns she has worked on, run or advised during that time.
